These are romantic sagas of private wealth, prestige, and the culmination of hard work by generations of hard-working Black Americans. These nuanced stories dispel the tropes and cliches we normally see about Black money, and lend a closer look at the families of prominence who compete, love, triumph, fall, and evolve toward greatness. Along the way, lives of Black jet-setters and professionals collide with tectonic forces of love.
Childhood friends Maddy, Chriselle, and Adella, reunite after spending years apart to pursue their careers. The girls all hail from “legacy” Black families who helped build the Hamptons through the early 1900s.
But as the older generation of Black money starts to pass away, the history of their beloved old neighborhood comes under threat. And new faces start to appear in Sag Harbor… such as the Rouse brothers, Sheldon and Jerrell.
The ladies go head-to-head with their main childhood rival- handsome, magnetic Kevin Middleton. He leads the spin-off series, Explore Men of the Hamptons, where established men come together and build a Hamptons-based Black luxury empire… all while maturing and falling in love.
These books can be enjoyed in any order, except Book 5, Rouse Family Christmas. This novella should be read after you’re familiar with the characters and world. All other books contain a complete love story with full character development. Of course, you can best appreciate these overlapping relationships if you read in this order: click this link.
